So here comes my first screamo post. While I have been out of this phase for a while, I still have absolutely full love for this record. I consider it to be my favorite screamo album. And I understand there is better stuff out there, but this is the one that has truly stuck with me. The entire album carries this almost post-rock aura. Instead of focusing solely on the “vocals” and the “how loud can we play” attitude, Daïtro makes unbelievable use of the slow parts. With their nine-minute “Nous Sommes D’Ici”, they expand their music beyond most means of screamo. Yet, their heavy parts are absolutely mind-chilling. While this may be somewhat old, I found it quite late but it has still been a perfect record for me.
