The Bishop – A venue room and bar room make up this great Bloomington venue, where I’ve seen such bands as Neon Indian, Surfer Blood, Citay, and Light Pollution.
The Black Sparrow – A pub in the heart of downtown Lafayette which hosts a number of great microbrews on tap and a vast array of musical acts weekly, including previous visits by HotChaCha, Cloud Nothings, Bare Wires, and We Are Hex.
Crossroads of America Records - Bloomington-based label that is home to Rodeo Ruby Love and Husband & Wife.
Girl At The Show – A Lafayette girl letting people know about all the music events around the city.
Husband & Wife – Indie folk band based out of Bloomington, with a few releases on Crossroads of America.
Landlocked Music – Record store based out of Bloomington.
Luna Music – Awesome record store in a hip part of Indianapolis called Broadripple.
Mid-American – Indie folk band spread out all over Indiana, with a truly ambitious sound.
My Old Kentucky Blog – Incredible Indy blog that has done wonders for the Indiana music scene.
Radio Radio – Mega-rad Indianapolis venue, where I almost succeeded in sneaking into a Japandroids/Avi Buffalo show!
Rodeo Ruby Love – Excellent Indiana power-pop six-piece, signed on Crossroads of America.
Secretly Canadian/Jagjaguwar/Dead Oceans – Three of the best indie labels in the nation, and they’re based out of Bloomington!
Snakeosaurus Rex – Northwest Indiana local band with a great debut in 2009′s Rhino.
Von’s Records – Bead/book/comic/record store in West Lafayette, IN, another one of my favorite record stores.
We Are Hex – Heavy punky dark-pop quartet with residency in Indianapolis, also friends with all-girl Clevelanders HotChaCha.
Why I Like Robins – Lafayette locals who play a nice brand of indie rock.
