So I was making a regular visit to the record store near my school in bumfuck Indiana, just browsing and not meaning to buy anything. I picked up a record with a familiar site on the cover, and quickly discover Cleveland’s public square on the cover of This Moment In Black History’s newest album, coincidentally called Public Square. I was a bit taken aghast on finding the Cleveland underground garage-punk outfit’s LP in Indiana. When I got back, I put the LP on the turntable, turned up the speakers too loud, and starting having uncontrollable fits of rage. Public Square is raw as fuck, nothing held back. “Forest Whitaker ( In an Uncompromising Role)”, “MFA”, and “Photo Negatives” are all heavy tracks that are just fun as hell to listen to. And just a warning, the last minute of “Precinct” causes intense raging. Pick the multi-colored LP up from the Smog Veil Store for a cheap $11.
