I am slowly falling back in a stoner metal phase, so I’m going back to music I was listening to about 2 years ago. My favorites at that time were The Sword and Witchcraft, so it made sense that this split was and still is a favorite of mine. This split is nice because they play too different styles of metal. The Sword go for Black Sabbath-infused riffs and powerful yet distant vocals, while Witchcraft show their European style with a more doomy tone and guitar solos straight from the 70′s. Witchcraft take up the majority of time on the split, but I personally like The Sword’s “Sea of Spears” and excellent Zeppelin cover in “Immigrant Song”. This was a vinyl only release limited to 2500 copies (500 black, 1000 green, 1000 purple), and I seriously wish I could get one.
