Most acts on The Social Registry break out into the most experimental sounds imaginable (which is a good thing), so it’s really nice to have a band come around that takes that influence and expands it into something beautiful. It’s hard to call Sian Alice Group specifically a shoegaze band, because they put out so many different styles and tones that it’s hard to pinpoint them. From post-rock, to jazz, to ambient, to minimalist, even pop, all of these styles project gloriously. While the musicianship is top-notch, the trump factor is definitely the vocals of Sian Ahern. They are absolutely haunting and gorgeous at the same time.
