Artist submission from Oregon! In my City of Sound write-up, I stated how it made me sad that solid, hard-working bands are not getting signed. For Icarus The Owl, it’s hard for me to get upset because they have nice amount of internet buzz and it wouldn’t surprise me if they got signed soon, especially after the release of this album. While their music is mostly pop-based, they incorporate many elements of math and post-hardcore into The Spotless Mind . The beginning of “The Extortionist” sports a sick mathy riff, and “La Charlière” sounds like an early TREOS song. For a three-piece band, they put out a very impressive full sound. Also, I give a nod to whoever did the production and mastering, cause it sounds clear and powerful. I’m really glad Joey from ITO got this to me because I haven’t posted much music like this, and it deserves it.
