I found out about Royal Bangs from their upcoming tour with Drummer, the side-project of Pat Carney from the Black Keys. They are not only touring with Carney, but have also released this album from his own label, Audio Eagle Records, straight out of Akron. The music is sometimes synth/guitar/bass heavy (“My Car Is Haunted”), or just up-front additive pop (“Shit Xmas”), but any of their different formulas are extremely entertaining, and are worthy of a listen.

P.S. And I just realized out of my past few posts, both I Need Sleep and Royal Bangs are out of Knoxville, TN…quite a music scene!
